Ideas

A design culture relishes in the exploration of boundaries of order, scale, light, rhythm, materiality, and construction. Every project presents us with an opportunity to define and create a unique solution that will enhance the environment we inhabit yet the essence of our design is for those who inhabit it. To be great, architecture must be thoughtful and elegantly created. A design must work, but it should also amaze. My love of design stems from its ability to envelop the senses and to stimulate the imagination. An ideal work of architecture will provide the user with new visual, spatial, and tactile experiences by presenting a view, suggesting a touch, or persuading an emotion. Architecture should not only enhance the physical qualities of living, but uplift the spiritual qualities as well.

It is with this weight on the importance of ideas that we draw our attention. Questioning with purpose and intention beget the attitude of a design culture. Obligated to investigate, to probe, to experiment with possible solutions or sometimes alternative ones, in order to lead, to redefine or to revive our ideas. Design is a process of search and research, and pursued as a methodological and theoretical endeavor that informs the built.
